Day two of the April AtoZ Challenge 2018, and I’m off to a ‘hot’ start — here to prove it is Borkh Three Jackdaws – Gwent card by Polish professional artist Anna Podedworna, posting as akreon.
I absolutely adore Anna’s caption to this artwork, which reads:
“Also calls himself Villentretenmerth… he’s not the best at names.”
That just makes me giggle every time I read it! It’s an amazing dragon, and that’s an awesome backstory, told in just a title and a sentence. As a concept artist for CD Projekt Red, Anna has created dozens of Gwent illustrations and tons of non-Gwent art, so check out her amazing gallery, and follow her on Instagram, Tumblr, and Art Station.
According to the official game website (with links from the Witcher Wiki):
GWENT is a competitive card game developed by CD PROJEKT RED — creators of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt … set in the [Witcher] universe created by [Polish author] Andrzej Sapkowski.
In GWENT, gamers clash with friends in fast-paced duels that combine skill-based play with bluffing, and careful deck construction. … GWENT is [available] on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4.
I’m keeping it simple this year with my theme of “Odds and Ends Dragons” — amazing artwork by artists I’ve come across in past searches, but wasn’t able to find a spot for at the time. Read more at my Theme Post.
All of these AtoZ posts should appear around 9:05 AM CT (-5 GMT) each day Monday through Saturday. For even more dragons, check out my 2016 and 2017 posts!
Thanks for reading, take care, and stay creative!

Ha, I know, all of these artists are crazypants amazing! I can’t draw stick figures, so I’m left to showing off other people’s awesome dragon art. 😀

Yes absolutely! I actually just watched the tail end of that movie where Smaug gets covered in molten gold, then flies off heading for the village to do exactly this! 😀 Thanks for stopping by!
