It’s Harry Potter’s birthday (July 31)! I’m exited to share some awesome HP dragon art, to celebrate one of my favorite fandoms. Italian professional artist Rosepeonie created a dragon for the Founder of each Hogwarts House, so let’s start with my own, Rowena, Witch Dragon.
Here below is a more detailed image of Ravenclaw’s dragon, described by the artist:
This sculpture of a sleeping dragon was inspired by the character of Rowena Ravenclaw. She has a deep blue body with black feathered wings, very detailed, a bright pink star-shaped rhinestone on her forehead, golden glitter on her eyelids, forearms and tail and a little, wearable witch hat.
So cute!! And up next, representing my husband’s (not evil, I promise!) House, we have Salazar, Wizard Dragon. I myself used to identify as Slytherin, and if you count hybrid-Houses, I’m a Slyther-Claw all the way. 🙂
Here is the more detailed image of the Slytherin dragon, as described by the artist:
This sculpture of a sleeping dragon was inspired by the character of Salazar Slytherin. He has a shimmering green body with spikes and silver membranes, a bright clear rhinestone on his forehead, silver glitter on his eyelids, shoulders and tail and a little, wearable witch hat.
Then, of course, we have to check out the dragon representing the birthday boy’s House — here is Godric, Wizard Dragon, in Harry Potter’s Gryffindor colors:
As the artist describes this Gryffindor dragon in the more detailed image below:
Godric has a vivid red body with golden scales, two winding horns, a golden mane, yellow wings, a bright leaf-shaped rhinestone, golden glitter on his head and tail and a little, wearable witch hat.
And then last, but absolutely NOT least, since my best friend is a Hufflepuff, and my husband’s hybrid-House is Slyther-Puff, here is Helga, Witch Dragon, to finish out the series!
As the artist describes the Hufflepuff dragon with a more detailed image below:
A vivid yellow body with black wings, a bright green star-shaped rhinestone on her forehead, golden glitter on her eyelids and tail and a little, wearable witch hat.
All of these sculptures are from 2014, but this artist, Rosepeonie, who also goes by Il Fiore d’Oro on Facebook, has an amazing gallery, as well as a Patreon, Etsy shop, Instagram, Storenvy, and Redbubble, so please go check out their art at one of those sites to see more amazing artwork!
That’s it for me for the moment — thanks for reading, take care, and stay creative, as always!!

*Squeal* They’re all so cute! I especially like the rhinestone detail on Hufflepuff dragon’s forehead.
