So tonight’s blog post was supposed to be about something from my actual book, rather than just me talking about how I’m either writing or not, and how it’s going.
However, as I composed that post, it just got more in-depth and more detailed, and I realized I didn’t want to rush it; I want to take some time to craft this first of what I hope to be many more well written explanations about some of the things in my fictional world, so that this blog can live up to its tagline.
Writing Dragons: Discovering the World of Finding Dragons by Jamie Lyn Weigt
There’s a lot in that phrase. First, I have to write a book called Finding Dragons, so there’s something for you to discover. And second, I then have to tell you things about that world. It’s a bit of a tall order, but even though I’m off to a slow start, I’m determined to make it.
For now, here’s another dragon picture to inspire both you and I to keep writing, to keep working at meeting these lofty goals, to publish a meaningful blog post each day, to follow my chapter outline and keep working my first draft chapter-by-chapter, to stop making excuses. It’s a dragon, writing. A Writing Dragon.
Tomorrow is Wednesday, and not only do I want to finish the post I’ve started, but I want to really dig into chapter four and the daring rescue I have to write, since I’ll only have ten days left before I have to move on to chapter five. As the image I shared the other day said — no one’s going to write it for me.
What have I gotten myself into? Well, I’m in for a crazy trip, that’s for sure. But I’m buckled in and ready for take off. Let’s do this.
