Learning from my missteps in last year’s challenge, this year I had the wisdom to prewrite almost all of my posts for the April AtoZ Challenge 2018, and that’s why I can share with you Xiang: The Wise by Greek professional artist Maria Dedevesi, posting as RenePolumorfous.
This is an epic commission for player rinrar of their Flight Rising Imperial Dragon with its golden lion familiar, and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a more elegant or imperial dragon, have you?
Maria’s bio explains:
I am a self taught freelance artist from Greece. I have a 3D Animation degree and I work predominantly on photoshop with a focus on creating a magical – realistic atmosphere for dragons and creatures.
I specialise in concept art for beasts, creatures, dragons and humans and I mostly enjoy making Epic looking artworks with dynamic perspective. Traditional art is also a part of my work besides digital, because I tend to mix those two beautiful medias with the textures to achieve a style between them that I find very interesting.
I love this piece, and she has many more beautiful dragons in her gallery, where you can see the four pieces (so far!) that have been chosen as Daily Deviations. She also does fantastic cosplay — check her out as High Elf Gunner Tera, in a photo I swore was another painting before I looked closer! You can also follow her on Facebook and Tumblr for more.
I’m keeping it simple this year with my theme of “Odds and Ends Dragons” — amazing artwork by artists I’ve come across in past searches, but wasn’t able to find a spot for at the time. Read more at my Theme Post.
All of these AtoZ posts should appear around 9:05 AM CT (-5 GMT) each day Monday through Saturday. For even more dragons, check out my 2016 and 2017 posts!
Thanks for reading, take care, and stay creative!

Hi, thanks so much for stopping by! I haven’t quite started my road trip yet, so this is a great reminder to get on that, lol! I loved this dragon so much that I made it my tablet wallpaper, so I figured it was the one to showcase — I’m glad you like it too. 😁

I’m afraid my road trip got derailed (sorry for the mixed metaphor) and then you came along with your lovely dragon. Thank you so much!

What a beautiful dragon and lion, Jaime Lyn! Love the details and colors.
Next year, I need to learn from you and write at least some of my A-Z posts ahead of time. It becomes such a crazy month otherwise. Thanks for stopping by on the A to Z road trip!

Beautiful dragon and what a fantastic theme. I missed this one as I scanned the theme list of #AtoZ last April, but I’m glad I found you now on the road trip! Love how you find ways to support other artists.
